The future of search is a mixture of social and artificial intelligence. Seeks brings a collaborative search layer on top of any information system
We are proud to announce the creation of the Seeks company, a fledgling startup behind the Seeks Project. Through the company we wish to boost up development around the Seeks collaborative search platform. The Seeks Project is an ambitious social and technical endeavour. It needs resources in order to bring collaboration, freedom and privacy to search for individuals, non-profits and businesses alike. The company is born out of a rising demand for products and services around the Seeks platform. We are convinced that having a commercial structure makes the project stronger, through experience, great software additions, employment for enthusiasts and skilled developpers.
More than ever we are committed to Free Software. The Seeks company relies on a business model that revolves around pure Free Software. Through the company, we produce software, all under the AGPLv3 license. Some of the code goes to the public repository, some of it goes to our private repository. This private repository hosts advanced code that is useful to businesses mostly. While these functionalities are sold to our clients, the code remains under AGPLv3 and can be redistributed. Regularly, some functionalities from the private repository will be merged in to the public repository, to make them available to all.
We believe the future of search lies in a mixture of automation and user control. Automation relies on advanced Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence techniques to squeeze information out of raw data. It also helps weaving a social graph of users on top of possibly heterogeneous collections of data. But because information value is only measured by how useful it proves in the real world, our search solutions let users influence each others, collaborate and share on top of the algorithmic layers.
We are based at the heart of cultural South-West France, in the pink city of Toulouse.

Hey, congratulations! I enjoyed our conversations at RMLL about these and related things. Glad to hear you’ve found an approach you think can work for Seeks! Good luck!
Hi Bjarni, Thanks, we’re trying to work our best ! Hope everything is well with PageKite.
Bonjour,
